'Life. Be in it' to assist Job Seekers across QLD and NT to become their own Boss!!

'Life. Be in it' gets set to support Job Seekers across Queensland and Northern Territory to become their own Boss come 1 July 2009!!!

After successfully tendering to become a New Enterprise Incentive Scheme (NEIS) Panel member, 'Life. Be in it' is excited about the emerging propects to be delivered to Job Seekers through the new Job Services Australia: People, Skills, Jobs .

As the main Panel member for NEIS across Queensland and the Northern Territory, job seekers can seek assistance through 'Life. Be in it' to pursue their dreams of settting up and running their own small business.

'Life. Be in it' through NEIS will provide accredited small business training, business advice and mentoring for eligible job seekers, as well as ensuring they recieve ongoing income support for up to 52 weeks.

The Rudd Government is investing more than $4 billion over the next three years in new, more effective employment services. The new employment services called Job Services Australia: People, Skills, Jobs which start on 1 July.

‘Life. Be in it' adds another feather to their Employment Cap with the addition of the Employer Broker Panel

As successful tenderers in the Government's new Employer Broker Panel, ‘Life. Be in it' has been invited to submit proposals to broker sustainable employment outcomes for the job seekers of Queensland and Northern Territory.

The Employer Broker Panel is a platform to bring Industry, Community and job seekers together to secure sustainable employment outcomes. As an Employer Broker ‘Life.Be in it' intends to utilize our strong links with the community, particularly at a local government level to develop prospects for the local unemployed. Our proposals will concentrate on the highly disadvantaged, focusing on matching their needs with the labour requirements of employers. We will collaborate with other organisations, including training providers and Employment Service Providers to deliver projects that will assist employers facing skills or labour shortages.

LIFE. BE IN IT GIVES LOCAL JOB SEEKERS A HAND UP IN THE TOWNSVILLE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY SKILLS SHORTAGE!

Life. Be in its Community Carpentry crew of dedicated volunteers are celebrating this week the achievement of their Certificate II in Construction. The Community Carpentry program is providing work experience in conjunction with a Productivity Places Program (Certificate II in Construction) delivered through National Training Group Pty Ltd on site at our Carpentry Workshop. Kim Zappone, local Community Work Coordinator said, "It is very exciting to see that out of the 10 we enrolled 10 have successfully completed this course."

Participants will receive their certificates of completion for 6 weeks of hard work at a luncheon held in their honour on Friday 12/09/08. ‘Life. Be in it' wanted to train job seekers and prepare them for the workforce by utilising the new Productivity Places Program, in conjunction with our hands on practical experience, which has proved very successful! With this training and work experience under their belt, these job seekers will be able to confidently walk straight into an apprenticeship/traineeship or labourers job in the Construction Industry.

An initiative of ‘Life. Be in it' NQ, Community Carpentry is a Work for the Dole program giving Not-for-Profit organisations access to our service for the cost of materials ONLY. In return, Job seekers volunteering on this program are given the opportunity to gain basic skills and accredited training that could lead to employment in industries such as Carpentry, Cabinet Making, Labouring and Painting.

This exciting Work for the Dole activity was funded by the Australian Government and is proudly supported by ‘Life. Be in it' North Queensland. Productivity Places are also an initiative of the Commonwealth Government, funded through the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations.
